Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about our plastering services?
If you’re planning a plastering project or want to know more about our process, these answers explain how we work and what you can expect before getting started.
What types of plastering services do you provide?
We specialise in interior plastering and offer a full range of services, including skimming, plasterboarding, ceiling repairs and replacements, artex re-skim, and patch repairs. We also take on larger commercial projects and multi-room refurbishments.
Do you work on both residential and commercial properties?
Yes — we work across both domestic and commercial projects, from single-room repairs in homes to larger plastering work for offices, shops and new builds.
Which areas do you cover?
We’re based in Wallington and cover Sutton, Croydon, and the wider South London and Surrey areas, including Purley, Epsom, Wimbledon, Bromley and Caterham. You can view a full list on our Contact page.
How much does plastering cost?
The cost depends on the size and type of job. Smaller patch repairs can start from around £100, while full room skimming or ceiling replacements are priced individually after a free site visit. We’ll always provide a clear, no-obligation quote before starting any work.
How long does plaster take to dry before painting?
Typically, plaster takes 5–7 days to dry fully, depending on room temperature and ventilation. We’ll advise you on drying times for your specific project and let you know when it’s ready for decorating.
Do you remove Artex ceilings?
No — we don’t remove Artex or textured coatings, as some older Artex may contain asbestos. Instead, we offer a safe re-skimming service that seals over the textured surface to create a smooth, modern finish. This approach avoids disturbing the existing coating while achieving a clean, paint-ready result.
Do you provide free quotes?
Yes, all quotes are completely free and without obligation. We’re happy to visit your property, assess the work required and provide a clear written estimate.
Are you insured and qualified?
Absolutely. Our team is fully qualified with years of experience in all aspects of plastering and we carry full public liability insurance.
How do you keep the workspace clean?
We take great care to protect your property, using dust sheets and floor coverings throughout. Once the job is complete, we tidy up so your space is left clean and ready for decorating.
Do you offer weekend or out-of-hours work?
We can sometimes arrange Saturday or flexible hours for projects that need to fit around your schedule. Let us know your requirements when you enquire.
Can you repair small areas of damaged plaster?
Yes, we handle everything from small patch repairs to full wall or ceiling reboards. Even if it’s just a few cracks or a damaged section, we can make it good as new.
